SURFACE
Looking beneath the surface and beyond identities, whilst coherently honouring and acknowledging unique aspects that culturally shape humans. The intention behind this series is to bring to light, the depth which human beings offer and build compassion for differences.
As humans, we experience the world vastly in a visual manner. This leads to interpretations based on information gathered. Similarly, when coming across other humans, we take this approach forward. Our interpretations can be a way to understand, although cover only the surface.
CHALLENGE
SOLUTION
Since humans are a product of nature and nurture, they hold levels of depth to their being. What meets the eye is shaped by culture, environment, experiences, genetics, psychology and more. This portrait series shares designs from different cultures, by recreating them in the form of face paint.
